GranitiFiandre floor tile absorb water and stains?
Thanks to the characteristics of the production process (high firing temperature, raw materials of great quality, sinterizing process) the surface of GranitiFiandre porcelain floor tiles is waterproof (the water absorption is minimum). Therefore the dirt cannot penetrate but it is necessary to remove it from the surface of the tiles.
For this procedure do not use greasy oilt detergents in order to avoid the forming of greasy layers.
To remove stains we recommend use of ordinary floor cleaning products diluted in plenty of warm water. Use of oily cleaning products will result in formation of an oily layer over the tiles.
What kind of cleaning is necessary for Luminar products?
To clean these Collections, acid-based products such as scale removers (e.g. Fiandre Clean or Deterdek by Fila) should be used in low-concentrate solutions and rinsed thoroughly with clean water. The surface should then be dried in order to eliminate all residue. For daily cleaning we suggest using common detergents. We suggest cleaning the ceramic product following the direction of the relief and rinsing with water to remove all residue left behind.
Are GranitiFiandre floor tile cleaning and maintenance easy?
GranitiFiandre floor tiles fear no stains and are easy to clean and maintain. All dirt is removed simply and quickly using ordinary detergents. Numerous laboratory tests demonstrate this. Regular floor tile cleaning highlights the aesthetic features of the material used and gives the porcelain floor an exceptional shine.
Is an initial tile cleaning necessary after tile installation?
The initial cleaning done immediately after the floor installation is of essential importance for removing all mortar, adhesives and epoxy residues that may be left in the joints. Be extremely careful in the selection of proper products and sealers for joints, check the technical documentation to choose appropriate shades if possible, and follow the recommended cleaning times scrupulously. In this initial phase, to remove all traces of cement, adhesive or sealant from the newly laid materiala, we reccomend that you use an acid product such as Fiandre Clean, in a 1:1 concentration. Rub energetically the tiles to obtain the maximum cleaning. After washing the floor, which is just as important, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water to remove all traces of the detergent used. These steps are reccomended for all GranitiFiandre tiles collections.
What kind of maintenance is necessary for matt and relief materials?
Matt materials For these materials, after completing the "initial cleaning", you only need to clean the floor with hot water containing small quantities of an alkaline detergent such as FIANDRENEAT or CIF. On these types of surface it is not advisable to apply a waterproofing product: the absence of porosity causes the waterproofing agent to deposit on the surface in an uneven way and to have unpleasant aesthetic effects. Relief materials The procedure described for matt and bright materials is also valid for products with relif surface with following addition:
- When cleaning, follow the outline of the relief pattern;
- Rub aggressively using appropriate bristles;
- Rinse abundantly and thoroughly.
Which detergents you suggest I should use to clean GranitiFiandre floors?
Any detergent on the market can be used in the desired concentration for cleaning the GranitiFiandre floors, with exception of HYDROFLUORIC acid (HF) or its compounds, according to UNI-EN 176. For raised floors we suggest to choose bright of polished surfaces in large sizes: these materials can be dry cleaned or with the minimum use of liquids. In order to keep costs limited and speed up maintenance operations, the concentration of the detergent must always be as low as possible. The detergents are invaluable when laying new materials on old floors and for preparing the support surface perfectly (Fiandre Neat) as well as after installation to remove all traces of cement, adhesive or sealant from the newly laid materials (Fiandre Clean). Use Fiandre Mineral to protect polished porcelain tiles, to facilitate the removal of dirt.
